BREAKING NEWS: Atiku arrives in Abuja, Nigeria

Image removed.Saharareporters  can now confirm that the embattled VP of the federal republic of Nigeria, Allhaji Abubakar Atiku earlier declared "sacked" by President Obasanjo has officially arrived Nigeria on a private chartered flight which took off from London some few hours ago. The VP's plane touched ground at the Nnamdi Azikiwe  International Airport, Abuja at about 3:40 PM local time.

 Vice President Atiku whose supporters were barred from receiving him made a brief appearance at the Presidential Lounge of the airport as well as  the junction near the airport where his supporters had massed up to welcome him.

 Sources told Saharareporters that Alhaji Atiku had declined to ride in the presidential helicopter and official vehicles provided by the government rather riding in his private vehicle provided by his family members who received him on arrival.

He is currently on his way to the city where he is expected to go into his official quarters earlier sealed by forces loyal to President Obasanjo.

 Broadcast of his arrival is banned in the official media, the government-controlled TV station-National Television Authority (NTA) continued with a SOAP -opera to avoid reporting Atiku's arrival.
