Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello Quizzed by the EFCC.

December 26, 2007

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigators spent several hours interrogating Senator Iayabo Obasanjo-Bello at their Abuja office over allegations of corruption regarding a power plant deal she was involved in with an Austrian -based company.

The former president's daughter was accused of scamming business partners in a bid to build power plants in three locations across Nigeria.

Her business partners, M. Schneider GMBH in Austria contend that Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello wilfully used fake names -Damiloal Akinlawon- to con the company in a failed power project partnership.

Saharareporters did not get any details of the interrogation at the EFCC as at the time of going to press.
