EFCC Arraigns Prof. Grange, Iyabo Obasanjo At Large-PM News

April 7, 2008
Former Health Minister, Prof. Adenike Grange, who resigned last month following the scandal surrounding the alleged sharing of N300 million unspent allocation to the Health Ministry, was arraigned this afternoon in Abuja.

She was dragged to the Abuja Federal Capital Territory High Court,
Maitama, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 56 count charge of conspiracy and theft.

The daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health and accused of collecting N10 million from the N300 million largesse, was also indicted by counts 55 and 56.

Iyabo was accused of taking possession of proceeds of crime and conspiracy.

EFCC, however, declared that she was at large and so could not be brought to court to face trial.

The matter was still going on at the time of filing this report.
