MINISTERIAL NOMINEES’ LIST SHOWS YAR’ADUA HAS NO PLANS LAGOS AC POSITS.

Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has said that the list of ministerial nominees sent by President Yar’Adua to the Senate for confirmation has gone to prove beyond all shadows of doubt that there is no hope that the present Yar’Adua government will make any meaningful impact in the country in the remaining two years it has to stay in government. The party says the nominees confirms the position that Yar’Adua has no idea of what governing the country entails and the men that would drive a meaningful change in the country.

In a release in Lagos, signed by the party’s Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, Lagos AC says that a ministerial list that contains such names as Achike Udenwa, Sam Egwu, Adamu Aliero and Rilwanu Lukman is not serious and confirms the long-held fact that the present government has no plan or idea on how to move this country forward. The party therefore advises Nigerians to start working for meaningful change to their worsening fate as this government has proved to be a massive failure that will lead to nowhere.

“Nigerians had hoped that the long period it took the Yar’Adua government to effect this cabinet change was being employed to source for good and competent hands to rescue a country that has been driven down the very labyrinths of decay by a visionless and very corrupt party since 1999. we had hoped that the embarrassing manner the cabinet reshuffle was handled was aimed ensuring the government gets its acts right and correct the mistake of packing incompetent party men into his first cabinet. But when we see a list that contains names of people that have performed abysmally in their respective states in eight years, like Udenwa in Imo, Egwu in Ebonyi and Aliero in Kebbi, as well as a Rilwanu Lukman that has held one form of appointment or another in Nigeria since the early sixties, we have no option to believe that this government is not about to change the dwindling fortunes of Nigeria but to satisfy some crude political interests at the expense of progress, which Nigerians are yearning desperately for.
