MTNLoaded Login Disabled- Problem now solved

November 12, 2009

Dear Editor: I am overwhelmed by the speedy resolution of an eight-month old problem in 5 Working Days! This is a great news indeed Nigeria; an evidence that all is not lost. A reassurance that we have values to be protected and pass onto our children. Apparently, this problem has just reached the RIGHT DESK in MTN with the airing given to it by Saharareporters.

By Tuesday morning after receiving the same auto-password via a sms message, the problem was 50% solved. I logged in to my account from the desktop, updated my profile (password reset) logged out and logged in again successfully, but I could not do so from my cell phone.

The Lady MTN assigned the task, ONYINYE, is a rare breed in customer care approach. She is polite, skilful and dedicated; she offered genuine apologies and did not ‘beat around the bush’, but took the task as a challenge. She called every day, sometimes twice in a day to get feedback from me and apply  additional information given to further diagnose the problem.

Finally, shortly before midnight last night (Thursday) the connection to the web came alive resolving the problem very satisfactorily. Thank you SR, thank you MTN thank you Lady O.

THE LESSONS

There are two lessons to be learnt from this case.

1)      For Nigerians in general, the lesson is: Never to give up on a problem. There is always a way out of every situation. We should persist, consult and research. We may be ‘5 working days’ from solution!

2)      For Nigerian workers: Remember that you are placed under a superior officer because, like everyone else, you have your limitations, in terms of knowledge and authority. Therefore, never sit on a problem or assume you know it ALL. Pass it on and never say no one else can solve a problem if you cannot.

Once again, I say thank you. May God bless you all.
