CNPP welcomes our dear president back to the country after 90 days and wish him tremendous progress and speedy recovery; however in welcoming him back we wish to note that the secrecy that shrouded his packaged return is a prima facia evidence that President Umaru Musa Yaradua is incapable of exercising the executive powers stipulated in Section 5 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

CNPP is taking this position, for when a president is incapable to enjoy the red carpet reception provided for dignitaries by the Geneva Convention and the Village Convention of Daddy welcome, nor inspect a mounted guard of Brigade of Guards, after a long sojourn, coupled with the high expectation of citizens to give him a hilarious welcome; it means that all is not well and nobody should play pranks with our dear president nor good people of Nigeria.
We are yet to see any photograph of President Yaradua in any news media, whether local or foreign since his return. How come that the media were cordoned off from the precincts of his arrival? We demand to see our president.
Is not highly embarrassing to Nigerians and a mockery of our democracy; that the Six man EXCOF Team were allowed to fly into Saudi Arabia same day Mr President was on his return to Nigeria? It signals a divided government, unnecessary power play and slide into a failed state.
Consequently, the CNPP calls on President Yar’adua’s handlers to allow us to see our dear president, and join us in appealing to him to honourably resign and save the country from divided government and its attendant instability.
