Even though the match eventually ended one goal to nil in favour of Argentina, on the balance of play, Nigeria performed so well that with a little bit of luck, the result could have been different.

At the end, the Argentine players were very jubilant knowing they came against a formidable opponent.

What is now very clear is that with Coach Lagerback, the Super Eagles now presents a strong enough squad to go beyond the first round. He has assured that preparations for the next match against Greece begin immediately.

The match was watched by many prominent Nigerians, from politicians to royal fathers and the consensus was that while we may have lost, our boys gave a good account of themselves.
