Amos Adamu: Beginning of the End

October 20, 2010

Dear Blatter, I write you again after these past weeks to say that you and your Executive Committee know that there are devils in football like you quoted today after Adamu and Temarii were suspended but kept them within your fold these years.

Dear Blatter, I write you again after these past weeks to say that you and your Executive Committee know that there are devils in football like you quoted today after Adamu and Temarii were suspended but kept them within your fold these years.

They say that the voice of the people is the voice of God. Nigerians cried to FIFA that Adamu has remained a pain in the neck of their football development but FIFA kept mute. Chief Segun Odegbami wrote to you complaining about the skewed electoral process of the Nigerian federation but you ignored him. I wrote severally to FIFA but not once was I acknowledged. The last time I wrote, I said that if FIFA fails to rescue Nigeria's football from the stranglehold of Adamu that God will surely rescue it one day. That process began yesterday with the provisional suspension of Adamu which I know must be confirmed by mid November.

Why has FIFA not asked itself why one man, Adamu is everything about football in Nigeria. WAFU president, CAF and FIFA Executive Committee member as well as the other big positions he has held in sports? Is he the only qualified Nigerian for these positions? You accuse the Nigerian government of interference in football matters but you fail to ask who funds football in Nigeria. The Adamu you worship was a government official who used his position to intimidate everyone and put himself in all positions but turned around to accuse the same government of interference because he was no longer calling the shots. When he led the LOC to ask government for N37 billion for the hosting of the U-17 World Cup, why did FIFA not query the bogus money especially after the government said it was not going to host the event again. Adamu has used FIFA officials severally to manipulate NFA elections and yet you didn't ask questions. I expect FIFA to ask questions to know the state of football in Nigeria instead of listening to Adamu alone in matters concerning our country. FIFA should allow Nigeria weed away Adamu's men in our football because they are like their master, very corrupt like we saw from their handling of the 2010 World Cup funds for which some of them are currently being investigated.

Where in this world would $236,000 get missing from the football federation and yet the FIFA Executive Committee member there doesn't see anything wrong with it. Like Adamu, most FIFA officials who visited Nigeria for one thing or the other should be probed because they must have been compromised in one way or the other. FIFA should investigate itself because there are many more corrupt men like Adamu in their fold. This is to restore credibility to the organisation like it was under Joao Havelange.

Again I ask that FIFA should allow Nigeria clean its football so that the future of the teeming youths of the country is not mortgaged because of the greed of some individuals or devils like you just called them today. Nigeria needs the support of FIFA for our football development that has been on the slide because of Adamu's greed which you are just knowing I guess. Long Live FIFA, Long Live Nigerian football. God bless you
