VIDEO: Nigeria Independence Protest/Parade In New York

November 2, 2010

Nigerians know how to party. But they know how to protest as well. At Nigeria's 50th independence anniversary celebration in New York, October 9, citizens were split right down the middle. While so merried , saying their country had come a long way, others protested, screaming that their oil-rich nation of 150 million people was a land of wasted opportunities. The protesters believe that the country, rather than roll out the drums, should hide its face in shame and soberly reflect over its failures.
