IBB’s Endorsement And Ribadu’s Ungodly Romances!

March 28, 2011

When Al Gore the onetime vice president to Bill Clinton ran for the presidency against George Bush Jr., he distanced himself from President Clinton because of the sex scandal involving Monica Lewinsky. As Republican senator McCain vied for the US presidency – he divorced himself from Bush as a result of the unpopular war in Iraq that came to define Bush’s lack of popularity.

As Republican senator McCain vied for the US presidency – he divorced himself from Bush as a result of the unpopular war in Iraq that came to define Bush’s lack of popularity.

David Miliband, a political associate of Tony Blair who lost the chairmanship contest of Labour party to his younger brother Ed Miliband steered Tony Blair off from his campaign hustle due to Blair’s battered image resulting from his Iraq war enterprise.

Ribadu is doing so many missteps and shenanigans that before Election Day, it’d be hard to differential him from Jonathan Goodluck the merchant of sleaze. It’s only in Nigeria that morally bankrupt political candidates ally themselves with, and get endorsed by a person who slept with his son’s wife and many wayward and corrupt higher-ups in that order.

Endorsement of Ribadu by IBB is the icebreaker in this election era. Is either Ribadu is very desperate or, he is out of touch with the by-now feelings of Nigerians and every modern day voters. Nigerians have been lampooning Jonathan Goodluck for palling and surrounding himself with corrupt and antisocial fat cats.Just when we are telling Ribadu to come clean on befriending former Lagos State governor Bola Tinudu he has decided to flirt with an even deadlier man full of questionable character.

And furthermore, we’re still smarting up and unable to digest how come Ribadu exonerated the presidents’ wife Patience Goodluck from corrupt criminal wrongdoings he personally documented as EFCC ace and mouthed so much in the press then and now this! In Naira and kobo, Ribadu is not in any way now different from Jonathan Goodluck and his party that he continues to criticise daily.  And frankly speaking, with this brand Ribadu that is in the making, I’m afraid that he’ll not be able fight corruption that has raced this country to the bottom. He’s getting indebted to plenty godfathers too fast and too furious that he will end up being hijacked by cabal people same way Jonathan was sidetracked and made a poodle and lame duck by his sponsors.

And this is where Buhari shows character and different from the rest; displaying that the presidency isn’t a do or die issue that should by obtained by fraud. Had Buhari not denied signing any pact with IBB lately, certainly IBB might’ve endorsed him. After Buhari visited IBB recently while on campaign tour to Niger State, IBB claimed that he had reached an agreement with Buhari in attempt to profit from Buhari’s raising profile and up his own personage; of which Buhari promptly denied making IBB and his gangers-on to do a public announcement condemning the Buhari camp. It is on the back of this and in an attempt to pay Buahiri back he endorsed Ribadu.

Even more surprising and reason why no one should take IBB seriously is that not too long ago, IBB made an infamous statement implying that the younger generation of Nigerians are too stupid to be given the mantle of leadership. So it is everyone’s surprise how quickly IBB has now become an apostle of youthful-leadership which he now claims Nigeria needs and Ribadu embodies.

Ribadu use to be well famous some while ago and he deserve it due that he served this nation pretty good without being corrupt. But, his recent outings are so much of a trouble to some of us who decorate him with somewhat goodness and grace. He needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. The kind of people he’s getting along with is major irritant as a public figure and one who prides himself as the anti-corruption Godhead in Nigeria. I thought he has learnt his lessons after OBJ exploited Ridabu’s youthful boyishness to make him do his every say-so not matter how weird. And the mistreating experience late Yaradua and his bunch gave to him was enough eye opener for him to have learnt on how to walk on a straight line away from filthy individuals. But right now, he’s derailing big time and rolling deep with corruption heavies to the distastes of both voting and apathy Nigerians.

Moral incorruptibility has come to shape how present-day voters cast their votes worldwide. Aside from the fact that US voters voted for Obama majorly due that he comes from modest, humble beginning family as most could connect with him better, the voters thought of him more so as most upright morally, away from McCain and Hillary Clinton – who, have been Washington insiders full of untold scandals. There was a time then when a reporter asked John McCain how many houses he owns, McCain dodged answering the question directly and referred the journalist to one of his aide to tell him. It was later found out that McCain has more than five houses. Voters were so pissed off that not only is McCain a corrupt fat cat, he was out of touch with the voting public. Many were asking themselves what McCain was doing with so many houses when most who work hard could barely afford a house. I feel now like asking all presidential contenders in Nigeria how many houses each of them have and from what time in their lives and careers they built or bought them.

Ribadu should show us that he doesn’t support corruption by distancing himself from people with dirty characters and if he can’t do that, he should stop criticising Jonathan for being corrupt and suffocating himself amid sleazebags.

Don't tell me that Ribadu has chronic spilt personality disorder or that he has been pretending all along until now when his real character is showing in living colour. Is Ribadu naive and an opportunist?
