The ambition of Ima Niboro to stay on as special assistant on media and publicity to Nigeria's president Goodluck Jonathan came to an end today as he was sent packing by his principal shortly after Mr. Jonathan concluded the swearing of the first batch of ministers earlier today at a brief ceremony at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Mr. Niboro confirmed to SaharaReporters that he held a valedictory meeting with the president who told him that his services were terminated. He described the meeting as cordial saying Mr. Jonathan was very kind man.

 His removal sets the stage for the announcement of Guardian newspaper editorial board chair , Reuben Abati as Jonathan's new spokesperson.
