“Kaduna State Security Council met today once again and deliberated on the issue of the curfew imposed on Kaduna metropolis and environs. It is the decision of the council to completely lift the curfew. Therefore, the curfew is hereby lifted completely. So everybody is free to go about their normal business," he stated.

“However, the suspension of gatherings and public assemblies or procession is still in force. This is in order to safe guard the public against molestations, intimidation as well as to protect private and public properties. Also, the ban on the movement of Okada is still in force. Once again, government appreciates the cooperation of the citizens towards the maintenance of law and order in the entire state. Finally, all the security agencies in the state would continue to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties of the citizenry in accordance with the law.”

Activists protesting hike in fuel prices had ignored the curfew imposed on the state and openly engaged in street protests that ultimately forced  President Goodluck Jonathan to slash the prices by 50%.
