Boko Haram Militants Kill 2 Police Guards At Police Commissioner's Home In Kano

Gunmen from islamist militant sect Boko Haram carried out a daring attack on the home of a servicing police commissioner in Kano on Monday.

The attacker riding on motorbikes attacked the house of CP Mohammed Jinjiri Abubakar, the current commissioner of police of Imo state at Dorayi quarters in Kano metropolitan area. The assailants shot and killed two policemen and injured two others on guard duty.

In a press release today, Kano State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Idris confirmed the attacks. However, he stated that the hoodlums escaped with bullets wounds after members of the public chased after them.

The Commissioner also stated that the fleeing suspects abandoned their motorbikes which he said will assist police investigation.

Kano was recently hit by a series of attacks that have killed some 300 residents.
