Two other persons were badly injured as they tried to flee from the scene of the attack.

The deadly attack occurred at Kutaru village, close to the troubled Tafawa Balewa area of the state. The traditional ruler of the village lost his life in the attack. The gunmen reportedly fired several shots before escaping from the town.

Also several eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that explosions and gunshots rang out in Misau, the headquarters of Misau localgovernment in  Bauchi State. A source in the town told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that residents could not ascertain the cause of the explosions since it was raining heavily at the time. In yet another development in Taraba State, a suspected militant on motorbike threw a grenade close to a commercial bank in Ungwan Dorawa. Hundreds of people panicked and took to their heels as the device exploded. A source disclosed that a few people were wounded.
