Unknown gunmen had on Monday night invaded a Deeper Life Church in the Otite area of Okene, Kogi state, behind the Federal Collage of Education in the area, opening fire on worshippers observing night Bible studies.

Staff of the college, including the Dean of Science, Esther Omeiza, was critically injured in the attack. Family members said she was shot both in her arms and legs.

The pastor of the church, Stephen Lambe, a lecturer at the Kogi State Polytechnic, Osara campus, died instantly, during the attack.
