A statement yesterday by spokesman Lieutenant Eli Lazarus said the incident occurred at Gujba on Thursday afternoon when patrolling JTF men encountered the suspects.
“One suspected terrorist was killed in the encounter and several others escaped with gunshot wounds and abandoned their vehicle,” Lazarus said.
Items recovered from the suspects, according to the statement, include 5 AK 47 rifles, 211 rounds of ammunition and 10 magazines.

Also recovered were a Mitsubishi canter truck, 2 motorcycles, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) materials, medical supplies and police uniforms.
