She died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospice, Mare Street, Hackney,London, United Kingdom, after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by three children.

Bimpe was diagnosed in 2011 of a stage 4 cancer of the breast and she was informed of her impending death in the next six months time. Rather than lose hope, she however braced the health challenges. She had been in and out of hospital ever since then. At a time, her condition improved and had cause to throw a thanksgiving party in Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS further learnt that in what looked like a rare daring move, Bimpe, last year, shot a movie titled ‘The Diagnosis’.

The emotion-laden movie is a true life story of how she was diagnosed of the terminal illness, and her struggles to stay alive. The movie was premiered on 11 November, 2012, during a 5-hour boat cruise. Guests from America, Nigeria and other parts of the world were aboard double-decked yacht, SS Ethalm, cruising from Greenwich Pier via House of Parliament to various landmarks across city of London with lots to eat and drink as the film was screened.

“The thought of surviving this harrowing and life threatening ordeal informed the idea of making an archival reference out of my true life story. The movie, ‘The Diagnosis’ is meant to immortalise myself whilst still living,” Bimpe said at the movie premiere.
Not many would forget easily the lingering spats and verbal lynching she and her siblings had with their brother, Ayo, over their father’s final resting place.

Her bitter separation from husband, Dapo Sorinolu, and the later relocation to Abuja was also menu for many celebrity journals and tabloids.
Bimpe’s profile as a high society lady was not in doubt. She owned ‘Night and Day’, a popular lingerie boutique along Opebi Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
