Armed policemen of the Kaduna State Police Command escorted former Zamfara State Governor and serving Senator, Ahmed Sani (Yariman Bakura), out of the premises of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Kaduna.

The former governor was participating in a weekly two-hour Hausa vernacular program, Hannu da Yauwa run by the 50-year old radio established by the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello.   The spokesman  of the police, DSP Aminu Lawan, denied that the lawmaker was arrested. Instead, he said, Mr. Sani was only escorted out of the station for reasons the officer would not disclose to SaharaReporters.   Police sources in Kaduna said the former governor was questioned regarding a threat he reportedly made during the show when a caller asked what would happen if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to register the newly formed political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
