The Technical and Development Committee, which met yesterday, made the recommendations, citing the “parlous” financial situation of the NFF. It did not say anything about the perennial mismanagement at the NFF.

“The Committee deliberated on the war of words now making the rounds between the Coaches and players of the Senior National Team, Super Eagles, and assured that peace would reign supreme before the country embarks on the series of matches that would eventually guarantee our 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification, as well as the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup,” the committee said in a statement.
Towards that end, it asked the media not to report the issue any further. “The Committee earnestly pleads with the media to assist in this task by getting this unpleasant issue off their pages and airwaves, even as the NFF has appealed to all the parties to sheath their swords henceforth,” the statement said.
The committee said it also considered the subject of employment a Technical Director of the NFF and the coaching staff of the U-23 National Team.
