Police sources in Accra stated that the four dead persons comprised three females and a young boy. Thirteen others were also injured.
The controversial Nigeria-born priest is the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), which has a large following in Nigeria and Ghana.

A Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tetteh, confirmed the tragedy to journalists.  He also said that the dead were taken to the morgue while those injured are currently receiving medical treatments.

The police officer disclosed that the church was forced to close its service following the tragic incident.

Last week, some of Pastor Joshua’s bodyguards illegally detained some Ghanaian journalists during a church service in the same church on Sphintex Road.
It is unclear if the Ghanaian police plan to investigate the deaths or file charges against the operators of the church.
