Impressive central defender, Kenneth Omeruo, suffered a deep cut just above an eye and has been wearing a plaster since the game.  He picked up the injury while attempting a header at goal in one of his adventurous moves to salvage the game for the Eagles.

Musa’s situation is an ankle injury which almost forced him out of the game but for the fact that the Eagles had made the three allowed changes. Oduamadi, Eagles’s leading scorer in the tournament, seemed to be the worst hit as he was forced out of the match with an ankle strain.  On Friday afternoon, he was still limping around.

Head Coach Stephen Keshi, who had lost several key players to injury even before the start of the tournament, was urging his medical staff of Dr. Ibrahim Gyaran and Wale Oladejo, the team’s physiotherapist, to work hard to speed up the recovery process of the three players.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that FIFA on Friday asked the Nigerian side to forward to it the final destination points of all its players to enable the preparation of their tickets should the team fail to make it to the semi-finals, as is the normal procedure.
