The meeting was presided over by the National Chairman, Bisi Akande, with former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari also in attendance.  Present were governors from Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Imo, Edo and Nassarawa, while others sent their representatives.

Speaking at the event were Governors Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and some other party stalwarts.

The speeches centered on the desirability of Nigerians being confident in the  APC as a change agent that would make life more comfortable for the masses through tackling the problems of power supply, insecurity, education, health, unemployment and diversification of the economy which the PDP has denied them in the 14 years they have been ruling the country.

Various speakers maintained that the APC would work to bring succor to the masses under the manifesto of the party if voted into power in 2015.

During the press briefing, Buhari was asked by a journalist whether he will contest the party primaries for the 2015 elections.  Jumping in, the National Chairman said that the press briefing was not organised for any politician to canvass for votes from anybody or to declare intention to contest or not to contest.

"This is my press briefing that I organized so this is not the forum for anybody to campaign for any position or to contest for position.  If anybody wants to declare his intention for any post such person can organize his own press briefing and do that but not here," he stated.
