Why We Want Kingsley Kuku Out (2) - Fraudulent Management of the Amnesty Programme

November 18, 2013

In a shoddy response to our demand for the immediate removal of Kingsley Kuku as Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) & Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, the media office of the PAP attempted to defend the actions and activities of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and then absolve its head Kingsley Kuku from our allegations of failure, incompetence, greed and treachery.

In their ridiculous and myopic response, the PAP Media office listed out a few colleges and training centers in the UK, USA and Germany and then gave a laughable statistical outlay in terms of the numbers of students who have been sent to the training centers and universities they carefully chose to mention.

In doing so, they made our challenge a lot more easier and so we will ask a few more sincere questions.

How many of those students in the many numbers they listed out are truly ex-agitators who were actively involved in the creeks of the Niger Delta during the days of the unrest?

How many of the students that were sent to Alabama State University were actually former militant elements in the Niger Delta who accepted Amnesty from the Federal Government?

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('content2'); });

How many of the students that they say they shipped off to Alabama A & M University were former militant elements who verifiably accepted amnesty during the Yar'Adua administration or even during the Jonathan Administration?

How many of the so-called students they say they have now in California State University were former militant elements who verifiably accepted the amnesty declaration which makes them worthy for the scholarship that is now doled out from the bedrooms of Kingsley Kuku?

How many of the so-called 582 students they say they now have in '58' universities in the United Kingdom actually accepted President Yar'Adua's amnesty which should make them worthy of the scholarship?

How many of the these people are qualified to enjoy the benefits of the multi-billion naira amnesty program that has not become Kingsley Kuku's personal FARM?

Can the Amnesty Office run by Kingsley Kuku provide a list of the names of students of these schools and then mention what camps they belonged to? so that we will know whether they belong to the camps of General Boyloaf OR General Farah Dagogo OR Ateke Tom OR Soboma Jackreece aka Egberepapa OR Soboma George?

OR should we just fall to the basic truth and say that these people were never amnesty beneficiaries and that their names were hurriedly conscripted by Kingsley Kuku and his goons?

In an interview granted to a number of newspapers inthe first week of September 2013, former senior MEND leader, Ebikabowei Victor Ben aka General Boyloaf expressed dissatisfaction with the handling and implementation of the Amnesty Programme and noted that the programme had been hijacked by non-politicians and other elements who were not an integral part of the Niger Delta struggle.

Hear General Boyloaf " I must state without fear of contradiction that politicians and other interlopers have hijacked the well conceived amnesty programme in the Niger-Delta for selfish interest and I have not seen where politicians disarmed any riffle, they should show us. This is not the vision of the programme we agreed upon when we surrendered our arms and accepted amnesty for peace and development to strive in our rich Niger Delta region. I must state here that there is no vote of confidence in the process. The ideal of Niger Delta struggle must never be misconstrued with the amnesty programme, what we have today is the situation where those who did not partake or contribute in any way to the struggle now becomes policy makers and moulders of the struggle, the next phase of the struggle will be more disastrous,” he said. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/former-militant-leader-accuses-jtf-of-having-high-stake-in-stolen-crude/158397/

Should we still be surprised that crude theft is now on the rise in the Niger Delta?

In Mid-October, former Militant leader Soboma Jackrich aka General Egberipapa demanded for an investigation into the activities of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) and called for the removal of Kingsley Kuku as Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). Egberipapa directly accused Kingsley Kuku of truncating President Jonathan's lofty objectives of the programme.

More and more leading militant elements from the Niger Delta have been coming out to call for Kuku's removal and the reason we have joined the fray is to ensure that the Presidency is properly alerted on why Kuku must be removed as well as suggest to the Presidency, a number of capable names who we know can manage the Amnesty office competently rather than use the office as an opportunity to build their financial empires through a carefully selected network of willy-nilly consultants and contractors.

Rather than accuse us of blackmail within our ranks and paint our campaign as an anti-Kuku campaign driven by greed and base avarice, the Presidency will be made to understand that the increasing theft of crude oil in the Niger Delta is strongly related to the short-changing of true militants elements from the gains of the amnesty programme. As a result, they have no choice but work with others with strong financial muscle to sabotage oil lines and take what they believe belongs to them.

Oil sabotage will continue to increase in geometric proportions in the next few months especially with increased access to better technology and heavier funding if the Presidency does not intervene and correct the failures at the Presidential Amnesty Office.

Did Asari Dokubo not cry out that the Amnesty is a fraud? Was his interview not properly documented in the media across the country? Why then should the silly Amnesty office accuse us of being dubious in our call for the removal of Kingsley Kuku?

Should the oil thieves take over the Niger Delta and bring our production to less than 700 barrels per day before the Presidency will act? No.

We are watching. The Time has come.
