She stated this during a courtesy call to the governor of Kano state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at the Government House in Kano, on Sunday.

Greenfield said the US knows what terrorism does to a nation, adding that the September 11 terror experience is still with the American people.

The Assistant Secretary of State told the governor that she was in Kano to ensure a more cordial relationship with state governments in fighting terrorism and extremism.

She assured out that US government would assist the state and other northern states who suffered from terrorism attacks in the last two years not only on the security issues but on economic and social development.

Greenfield thanked the governor for making efforts to ensure social development takes place in the state, hoping the trend would be maintained.

Responding Governor Rabiu said that the state would continue partnering with the US embassy to ensure all programmes and projects that are beneficial to the two parties are done in the best possible ways.

Governor Kwankwaso assured that the existing cordial relationship between US and the Kano in particular and the nation at large would be consolidated.
