His arraignment was sequel to a petition by the National Chairman of Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa wherein he claimed that the accused conspired with Sule Soja, the party’s chairman in Taraba State to sell and convert proceeds of an 18 seater Nissan Bus, property of the PRP, for personal use.

Investigations revealed that Aliyu sold the bus and bought another 12 seater bus with the proceeds, and subsequently put the new bus to commercial use for his personal benefit. The sum of N300, 000 which was the balance from the sale of the 18 seater bus after the 12 seater bus was purchased, was converted to personal use by the convict.
