A source at the radio station said that although the circumstances of his release were unclear as at press time, he was released on Thursday morning, and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Akas Baba, as he is fondly known, was kidnapped last Thursday by gunmen, who broke into the house very early in the morning, beating him and shooting him in the leg in the presence of his wife and children.
The assailants demanded a ransom of N10 million before taking him away in his Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV with Registration Number LSD 871 CM.
