The father of the baby at the center of the kidnapping saga, Engineer Bayo Olowookere has narrated his family’s ordeal in an exclusive interview. Speaking on the phone with Sahara Reporters, Engineer Olowookere gave a vivid description of what transpired.

“My wife was taking my children to school around 7:45 am on that fateful day. On their way, a car just double-crossed them and immediately some hefty-men carrying AK-47's with mobile police uniforms alighted from the vehicle and pointed the gun down immediately, and he collected my wife's phone. Immediately, some men dropped out of the car and went straight to the back and picked one of my children and ran quickly into their green Camry car and left the spot” he explained.

Engineer Olowookere further said that his wife called him a few minutes later to inform him of the incident. He said he called the police immediately to report the matter while trying to keep his wife calm and followed up to the Okuta-Elerinla police station.  The relieved father said even though the police swung straight into action all efforts to rescue the child hit a snag until several days later when the police through concerted investigations rounded up the kidnappers. He thanked the police for their unrelenting efforts to rescue his child.

“Let me say this, police really tried for me because I don’t even belief that this thing can work fast because the incident happened 10 days ago. But I still thank God that they still captured the perpetrators and recovered my child also”.
