Pro-democracy activists, civil society leaders and family members of Mrs. Kudirat Abiola converged  in Lagos today  at the tomb of late democracy heroine and wife of the winner of the June 12 1993 Presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola,  to remember her life and times.

Mrs. Abiola was murdered on the orders by military dictator, Sanni Abacha. The assassination was carried out by a killer squad maintained and led by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha.

After several years in prison on trial , Al-Mustapha and his collaborators were set free under mysterious circumstances by a compromised panel of appeal court judges, ostensibly on the orders and direction of President Goodluck Jonathan.
