The former Dynamo Kiev player, who signed for the Baggies for a record £10 million on July 18, was reported to have battled officials of the British High Commission in Nigeria over his quest to secure the vital document to enable him start his Premier League career.

“So happy to meet all the players and staffs of the team today” the player’s first tweet read.  He added, “They all welcomed me with open [arms], I'm so happy to be here and i thank GOD for his blessings.”

Ideye, who missed the final cut for the Super Eagles squad to the World Cup in Brazil after being on the provisional list, is the club's fifth summer signing as they look to bolster their squad this season.

He was a key fixture in the Super Eagles Cup of Nations team last January, and has worn 24 caps as well as scoring five goals for Nigeria.  He has also scored 74 goals in 182 career league appearances.
