Nigerian Medical Doctor Survives Ebola, Discharged From Treatment Center In Lagos

A Nigerian medical doctor who contracted deadly Ebola virus from Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer during initial treatment of the Liberian has been discharged from the Center for Infectious Disease Control at Yaba Lagos after recovering from the disease.
 
Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh was hospitalized after showing symptoms of Ebola infection few days after Mr. Sawyer died at her hospital in Lagos.
 
Dr. Adadevoh was endocrinologist at the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos who treated Mr. Sawyer as he was rushed from the airport in Lagos to her hospital. 
 
Dr. Adadevoh plight had led to a petition by colleagues and well-wishers urging President Barack Obama to release Zmapp for her treatment. Dr. Adadevoh (Nee Cardoso) was discharged from the hospital yesterday after fully recovering from the disease according to doctors at the facility.
