With four goals from Number 4 Asisat Oshoala, and two more from Courtney Dike and Uchechi Sunday, Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team Wednesday evening at the Moncton Stadium in Canada overran the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to qualify for the final of the 2014 U-20 FIFA competition.

Nigerian players stand together prior to the FIFA U20 Women's World CupNigerian players stand together prior to the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Nigeria got its first goal in the second minute through Dike, who entered the tournament’s history books earlier in the group stage as the fastest-ever scorer.  The semi-final then became the Oshoala show as she scored in the 24th minute, and three more in the 60th, 68th and 85th.

Nigeria led 2-1 at the half, DPRK getting its first goal through R. Un Sim in the 31st, and another through a penalty by J. So Yon in the 62nd. 

Nigeria’s powerful and growing offensive prowess in the women’s game will be put to the test in the final on Sunday against the winner of the second semi-final between two European powers, France and Germany.
