Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Ngilari commended the judiciary for maintaining its integrity, which he said was vital for the development of Nigeria’s democracy.

He urged the judiciary to maintain this standard because it is the last hope of masses and the government.

“Therefore, the Judiciary must continue to ensure that it upholds the right position in the decision making in the process of growing democracy,” he said.

He praised the new acting chief judge for his brilliant career, noting that his enviable track record was responsible for his new appointment.

The governor also promised to cooperate with the judiciary, saying he would allow it system function effectively.

In his acceptance speech, Banu thanked the state government for the appointment and promised to justify the trust placed in him.

The absence of a state chief judge or someone acting in that capacity meant the oath of office at Ngilari’s swearing-in as governor on Thursday was administered by President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Audu Lagre.
