The journalist, who works for Kiss FM in Abuja, said she's forgiven Mikel Obi after the assault, according to team media officer Ben Alaiya.— Oluwashina Okeleji (@oluwashina) October 15, 2014
According to Metro UK, Mikel was leaving a training session with the team when the reporter approached him to talk about Nigeria's upcoming matches. Mikel is said to have become irritated, and lashed out.
This is the second reported incident involving Mikel and members of the press this week. Earlier in the week, sports journalist Colin Udoh alleged that Mikel verbally assaulted him on a plane, following the Eagles' poorly-played match in Khartoum last Saturday.
In that incident, Mikel was said to have unleashed a "vitriolic assault" on a "former captain of the team" and had a "few choice words" for others.
