Ghanaian Starbow Airlines Ordered To Ground Entire Fleet

Accordingly, the Authority has ordered Starbow to ground its entire fleet pending further safety checks, after which an airworthiness certificate will have to be issued before the company can resume the use of its fleet.

Ghanaian domestic airliner Starbow has been asked to ground its entire fleet after Tuesday’s forced landing in which 2 passengers reportedly sustained injuries.

According to Deputy Transport Minister, Hon. Joyce Bawa-Mogtari, the Ministry summoned the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for briefing over the matter, after which the decision was arrived at. She said, the briefing revealed that the plane involved in Tuesday’s incident required further maintenance before flying. Accordingly, the Authority has ordered Starbow to ground its entire fleet pending further safety checks, after which an airworthiness certificate will have to be issued before the company can resume the use of its fleet.
