Group Protests Appointment Of NIPC Boss

According to Philip Agbese, President of the Civil Society Organisation, the appointment of Umar stands condemned. He said that President Jonathan, who should be an advocate of due process, cannot dash the future of an important organisation like NIPC with such appointments.

The National Democratic Front (NDF) and its civil society partners today protested against the appointment of the executive secretary of the Nigerian Investiment Promotion Council (NIPC), Mrs. Saratu Umar, for what they called an ''appointment in error."

Members, who carried placards with different inscriptions reading: ' Saratu Umar is incompetent, she lacks integrity',  'Saratu must go', etc., are angry with the emergence of Umar, which they say did not follow due process in line with public service code.
