Nigerian Military Confirms Helicopter Crash In Yola

A Nigerian Air Forces helicopter crash-landed at the Yola International Airport this morning at about 9am.  There were no casualties.

A statement signed by Major General Chris Olukolade, the Chief of Defence Information of Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters, said that “Shark 23,” which had been on a training mission, “executed a controlled forced landing 4 minutes after take-off.”

He said all the crew members were recovered, but he gave no indication as to their condition, or how many people had been on board.  

“The Nigerian Air Force Headquarters has already set up an investigation panel to unravel the circumstances that led to the incident,” the statement said.
