Ghanaian Opposition MPs Spotted At AFAG Demonstration

The protest christened ‘Aagbe Wo’, meaning “They are killing us” was organized to protest the deteriorating economic conditions and the rising spate of corruption in the country.

A number of notable faces were spotted at Wednesday’s demonstration staged by the Ghanaian pressure group Alliance For Accountable Governance (AFAG).

The protest christened ‘Aagbe Wo’, meaning “They are killing us” was organized to protest the deteriorating economic conditions and the rising spate of corruption in the country.

Members of Parliament including Ursula Ekuful, Mike Oquaye Jnr. and Naa Torshie, as well as National Youth Organiser for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku were spotted among the red-clad throng as they sang and displayed placards calling on the Mahama-led administration to take steps to better the lot of the Ghanaian.

Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu was also seen lending his support to the protest.

An estimated 4,000 people attended the protest; a sequel to several held around major cities in the world including Washington DC.
