A statement by its Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, issued to journalists in Akure, the state capital, said the act is unacceptable and condemnable, calling on the governor to 'redirect his political violent supporters to halt the madness forthwith.'

Adesanya alleged that a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr. Abisioye Olatubora, led a team of ‘violent supporters’ in a government Hilux van in an unprovoked destruction on its billboards in Ondo East and West area of the state.

"The destruction of virtually all billboards of APC and its aspirants in Ondo town by armed and violent supporters of Governor Olusegun Mimiko and PDP is condemnable and unacceptable.

"The report that Mr. Governor and his new Party (PDP), who are apparently threatened by the rising popularity of APC in Ondo State as a party to beat, directed his foot soldiers to destroy all APC billboards in Ondo town is believable given Mr. Governor's rich history of political intolerance and cruelty.

"These agents of destruction must have acted on the orders of their paymaster whose political ego has been badly bruised by leaders of his new party,” he said.

The party further noted that no amount of intimidation would sway it from campaigning for the enthronement of good governance adding that the people are tired and ready to vote against the maladministration of the ruling government.

"We warn these agents of destruction to desist from heating up the polity in the run-up to the 2015 general elections, because no amount of billboards destruction can save their paymaster from electoral humiliation in the forthcoming general elections."

"The good people of Ondo State would not only vote against this administration for underdevelopment, fraud and hypocrisy, but candidates associated with this good-for-nothing administration and PDP, would also be rejected at the poll no matter the intimidation," the statement read.
