If he wins the February 2015 election, as expected, he will succeed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who has occupied the seat in the last eight years.

Tambuwal has been elected as the APC's governorship candidate in the state in next year's polls.

Dasuki, from Dogon Daji in Tambuwal LGA, was affirmed as the candidate of the constituency by 176 delegates from 21 wards in Kebbe and Tambuwal local government areas.

The election, which took place at the Tambuwal Stadium, was attended by political office holders from the constituency serving at both the state and the federal levels.

Dasuki, a Harvard-trained economist, is presently the chairman of Finance and Appropriation committee of the Sokoto House of Assembly.
