Yero To Clash With El-Rufai In Kaduna Tough Governorship Battle

Yero's fellow contestant in today's exercise, Senator Haruna Aziz got only one vote to the chagrin of the delegates that attended the primaries.

In a landslide governorship primary in Kaduna State, Governor Mukhtar Yero won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) slot this evening, scoring 970 votes. He will clash with All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who had on Friday emerged after defeating four contenders from the party.

Yero's fellow contestant in today's exercise, Senator Haruna Aziz got only one vote to the chagrin of the delegates that attended the primaries.

Chair of the committee, Steve Oru, who declared the governor winner said only 972 votes were cast with one single invalid ballot.

With these developments, both Yero and El-Rufai are now top contenders in the February 2015 governorship elections.
