Ondo Doctor’s Death: Family Desperate To Get Justice, Sends Samples To US For Further Investigation

SaharaReporters gathered from the elder brother of the deceased, Ben Oguntuase, who has doubled as the family spokesperson, that the family members have engaged the services of experts outside Akure.

Desperate to ensure justice for Dr. David Akintayo Oguntuase, killed last week in Ondo State, family members have engaged the services of private experts to conduct an autopsy on the remains of the deceased, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Our correspondent gathered that the move was unravel the actual cause to the death of the late medical practitioner, who was found burnt to dead in his private clinic on Christmas day in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

His family is suspecting foul play and has petitioned Nigeria’s Chief of Police, Suleiman Abba, in Abuja, for a more comprehensive investigation.

He disclosed that the experts have concluded their work and have sent samples to the United States for further investigation.

Mr. Ben Oguntuase further added that the family would be expecting the result in another two weeks and might properly make it public.

“Although the preliminary report of the autopsy could be ready this week we are waiting for [a sample] which has been sent to US for further investigation. And this could only be ready in the next two weeks, but family members are seriously waiting for it.

“They can’t wait to know what caused the death of their son, brother and the breadwinner of the family," he said.

SaharaReporters had previously reported that the family members were armed to the teeth at ensuring they get justice and keeping the case from being quickly forgotten.
