INEC Announces Extension For PVC Collection

“The Commission hopes that this extension will finally avail every registered person yet to collect his/her PVC the opportunity to do so in readiness for the general elections,” she said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday announced further extension for registered voters who have yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).

A statement by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, said the extension followed the rescheduling of the 2015 general elections.  The collection of the cards will continue until March 8th, 2015.

“The Commission hopes that this extension will finally avail every registered person yet to collect his/her PVC the opportunity to do so in readiness for the general elections,” she said.

On Saturday, the commission rescheduled the elections by six weeks due to security challenges. The national elections (comprising the Presidential and National Assembly, will take place on March 28, while the state elections (Governorship and State Assembly) will follow on April 11.
