Consequently, he also said, “In a matter of weeks, the people (electorates) armed with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will ‘march’ on the street, on March 28th and April 11th to queue up on the line to begin the process to effect change in the country. The people will prove to the whole world that, even the orchestrated postponement of the elections will further embolden them to push for what they perceive to be the long-awaited CHANGE.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the postponement of the 2015 General Elections as a blessing in disguise that has strengthened the resolve of the Nigerian electorate to effect a change of government through the use of the ballot box.

In a press statement issued in Akure on Sunday, Ondo State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential Candidate Dr. Goodluck Jonathan have shown their total incapacity to address the real issues affecting the people’s welfare.

Adesanya decried the “campaigns of calumny and character assassination” being peddled by the agents of the PDP who have been busy attacking every APC leader and labouring in vain to taint its presidential candidate in the forthcoming general elections, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as the most corrupt instead of engaging and focusing on issues-based campaigns.

He dismissed the PDP presidential campaigns around the country as lacking any focus and completely disconnected from tackling present issues affecting the country saying it is no more than Dr. Jonathan’s celebration of his imminent exit from, and life after, office.

In particular, the APC derided as ‘political abracadabra’ the PDP recent presidential campaign in Akure, Ondo State where “the ground (venue) of the campaign was filled with decorations of sorts to create the impression that the venue was filled to brim;” it also said since the umbrella party has nothing to offer the people of Nigeria it will only continue to lose their support.

It added that despite the suspicious postponement, the elections will be keenly contested as the people (electorates) are ready to exercise their voting rights and elect a credible leader who will give effect to the ‘change’ they have been yearning to have.
