Reports are saying the victim was rescued by Governor Amaechi after being shot by PDP thugs.
An APC voter was reportedly shot on Saturday by PDP thugs at Omuanwa in the Ikwerre local government area, Rivers State, according to Mr. David Iyofor, Chief Press Secretary to Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
The victim was reportedly rescued by the Governor of Rivers State, Amaechi.
Governor Amaechi also said that the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Rivers State are illegitimate due to the numerous accounts of electoral irregularities in the State.
Amaechi spoke shortly after he was accredited in Ubima community, Ikwerre local government area.
Chief Press Secretary, David Iyofor, reportedly said the governor believed the election “was a failed exercise because of reports available to him from several parts of the state.”
