The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has held nearly 4,000 of the 5,000 of its own invitation cards for the Presidential Inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari set to be held this Friday.

A source on the Inauguration Committee said that the plot to hijack the invitation card was intentional. The Inauguration Committee is Co-Chaired by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, and the former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva.

“We don’t want President Goodluck Jonathan to be embarrassed during the ceremony as we gather that there are plans to boo the outgoing President during the ceremony,” the source said.

“It is imperative that we give the outgoing President a cheerful exit,” he added.

The APC has 1,300 invitation cards, reserved for local and foreign officials who have expressed interest in attending the ceremony.

There have been complaints from serving former governors, serving members and incoming members  of the National Assembly, party chieftains, and members of the Inauguration Committee have been left out of the program for the Friday handover ceremony.
