At least 60 people have been confirmed dead in the southeastern city of Onitsha in Anambra State after a gas tanker going down a hill crashed into a bus station.

Eyewitnesses said that the driver clearly lost control as he was going downhill. There were gruesome images of the victim burns on their bodies.

Dozens of people are being treated in two hospitals in Onitsha.
