Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity to the President, said in a statement from Munich, Germany that the most important agenda items Buhari will petition on, are the issues of security, terrorism, and development.
On Sunday June 7th, President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Germany with a "wish list" for Nigeria. President Buhari arrived days after meeting with high level delegations in Chad and Niger where they discussed the ongoing fight against Boko Haram.
In a charity gesture towards the new Nigerian Head of State, the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized countries had requested Buhari to come with a list of major talking points for them to consider.
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity to the President, said in a statement from Munich, Germany that the most important agenda items Buhari will petition on, are the issues of security, terrorism, and development.
"These development issues touch on the economy, combating corruption, increased foreign direct investment, FDI; power and energy, infrastructure, environment, enhanced transparency in elections and good governance," Mr. Shehu told members of the public.
During the Summit, Buhari said that he will use all opportunities available to him to discuss Nigeria's needs. He added that, with the support of the G7 leaders, he hopes to better address Nigeria’s problems.
President Buhari will also meet with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the French President Francois Hollande, the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and the World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim.
He plans to return to Nigeria on Tuesday once the G7 Summit is completed.
