There was no reason given by security agencies for their action. The inauguration of the 8th National Assembly is billed to hold today despite the bickering and internal rancour  within the ruling All Progressives Congress party as to who will lead the two chambers.

Opposing camps at the APC have refused to shift ground despite the mock election conducted by the party leadership which presented Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as the candidate of the party to contest for Senate President and the Speakership position of the party at the Senate and House of Representatives.

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to meet with lawmakers elected on the platform of the party as a last minute effort to save the party from losing both elections scheduled for 2:30pm today.
