Three females suspected as Boko Haram bombers died today. Police said their death can be attributed to a failed suicide bombing attempt in Maiduguri.
Borno State Police Commissioner, Aderemi Opadokun, said that before reaching their destination, the bombers, all female, were killed by their bombs, which were carefully concealed on their bodies and exploded unexpectedly on a highway along Maiduguri.
"Three suspected female suicide bombers died in Konduga LGA about 20 Kilometres to Maiduguri on Tuesday when IEDs strapped to their bodies detonated on their way to Maiduguri.''
"All the three suicide bombers are dead with no other casualty,'' Opadokun confirmed.
He also added ''there was another bomb explosion,'' at a Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno road on Tuesday at about 3.30pm.
Mr. Opadokun did not state the casualties from the Tungushe Dogonwaya blast. However, SaharaReporters has information from sources that many people may have died.
