A female suicide bomber has killed at least two people today at a military checkpoint on outskirts of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, according to a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member speaking to SaharaReporters.

The explosion occurred at the Njimtilo military checkpoint at about 12:07 PM, where citizens are usually searched and inspected by the military before entering the city.

According to a CJTF, Baba Aji, “Only one person died and a CJTF member was was wounded. If the terrorist attack been in morning the death toll would have been higher.''

Despite the relocation of Nigeria’s military Command Center to Maiduguri, Boko Haram terrorists have intensified suicide attacks inside and outside the northeast region.
